About Our School

Our school is very unusual. It is in the middle of fields and you cannot see another building from it. You can see lots of hills and rabbits though. The building on the right of the picture was put up in 1674. The one next to it was opened in 2000. The last phase of the permanent building work will be completed in 2010. The school will have taken 336 years to complete.

The part of the school that was built in 1674 is a grade two listed building. Inside that part is now the hall where we have assemblies, dinners and P.E.

The rest of our school is modern. There are two cabins in what was the farmer’s field. These are double glazed and air-conditioned. These will be replaced in the last phase of the building with permanent stone built classrooms and toilets There are two more classrooms in the stone extension, which opened in 2000.

We have four classes and two playgrounds and a field. We also have a special summerhouse where people can have individual or small group lessons. Some children use it to learn singing techniques or how to play an instrument. The teachers sometimes use it for meetings too.

We have five dinner ladies. They all have other jobs in school so we know them all very well. Some of us have school dinners, and some sandwiches. We have some good things to play with outside and at wet playtimes.

We have good lessons and get good results in our tests. We have four houses, all named after famous dragons, and can get housepoints for doing hard work or being good and kind. We can also have stickers and golden hearts for doing good things.
